Message	Weight. The transmission needs GL-4 due to brass syncro's, GL-5 has elements needed by hypoid gears and those elements are corrosive to brass. MT-90 for example is GL-5 & MT-85 is GL-4, brands can vary as to weight and GL rating. The thicker the weight, the harder shifting can be when cold when talking about 75W and up.
